Coszu
18 U.S.C. \u00a7\u00a72257/2257A Information and Performer Safety Statement
Fact-dependent US recordkeeping and safety information for adult cosplayers.
Effective / updated: October 13, 2026
1. Purpose and cosplayer scope
Coszu at https://coszu.com may display photographs or videos of actual adult people performing cosplay, including material that may contain nudity or explicit imagery. The actual performer is a cosplayer even when the portrayed character is fictional. Coszu therefore cannot treat all material as synthetic or assert a blanket recordkeeping exemption based on a costume, fictional biography or AI chat feature.
This statement explains the need for a fact-specific assessment. It is not a statutory records-location label, certification of compliance, assertion of a designated records custodian or representation that Coszu holds government IDs or production records. No custodian name, records address or verified operator legal identity is established by this page.
2. The relevant US framework
18 U.S.C. §§2257 and 2257A and 28 CFR Part 75 address specified visual depictions involving actual human performers, with duties that can include checking performer identity and age, keeping records and providing required labeling. The precise statutory definitions, depiction, production history, date and role of each responsible person matter.
The Department of Justice’s official information and the regulation are linked below. Their existence does not establish Coszu’s role in a particular production or demonstrate that any exception has been satisfied. Counsel must assess the actual content and activities before the operator makes a legal claim about applicability.
3. Ordinary cosplay versus covered explicit depictions
A photograph of a adult cosplayer in an ordinary fully clothed costume is not automatically subject to these provisions simply because a human appears in it. Conversely, actual or simulated sexually explicit depictions can raise recordkeeping issues even when marketed as cosplay, art or a fictional character. A broad category label is not a legal determination.
Nudity, framing, conduct and the precise statutory definitions require careful examination in context. This page does not say all nudity is covered or that every explicit depiction is exempt. The lawful publication of any cosplayer material also depends on copyright, likeness, privacy and informed distribution authorization beyond any recordkeeping question.
4. Responsibilities where the law applies
Responsible producers and other persons within the applicable legal definitions must fulfill their own age/identity, recordkeeping, inspection and labeling obligations. They must use lawful, reliable information and follow the required procedures. A distribution agreement or uploader’s declaration does not substitute for duties that attach to a responsible person.
Do not assume a website credit, participant’s statement, apparent adult appearance or payment receipt establishes age at production. Do not send sensitive ID records through public reports, AI chat or the Upload form. Secure collection, authorized access, retention and any required disclosures must be established as real operations where needed.
5. Current evidence and limits
Coszu’s entry prompt records only a visitor’s browser acknowledgement of being 18 or older. It does not independently verify the visitor’s age and says nothing about the performers’ IDs. The uploader declarations likewise state contractual responsibilities; they do not demonstrate that Coszu inspected documents, independently verified releases or maintains statutory records.
Upload stores selected images, metadata and declarations privately for manual review. It does not collect or verify government IDs or establish statutory record custody. Manual review and self-declarations alone do not prove age, consent or compliance with producer duties. Existing public galleries have separate provenance; publication alone is not proof of compliance.
6. Required approval before explicit cosplayer launch
Human legal and operational approval is a PRE-LAUNCH BLOCKER for actual or simulated sexually explicit cosplayer imagery where recordkeeping duties may apply. The operator must establish the applicable production/distribution role, lawful content rights, participant age and consent, any required records and labels and a reliable records-contact process before relying on such content in a launch.
Content can be restricted pending lawful documentation. This page must not be used as a substitute for a required records-location statement or a basis to invent a custodian or address. If an obligation applies and cannot be substantiated, that material should not be made available on the assumption that a generic disclaimer cures it.
7. Participant consent and image rights
Every depicted person must have been at least 18 at production and must have informed authorization for the intended distribution, including intimate or explicit publication where relevant. Copyright authority and commercially relevant model-release, likeness, publicity and privacy rights must be established where required. A fictional character’s age does not determine an actual cosplayer’s age.
No minors, sexualized age-ambiguous depictions, coercion, trafficking, hidden recordings, stolen/leaked intimate material, revenge pornography or unauthorized sexual deepfakes/face swaps are permitted. Age evidence does not cure lack of consent, and consent does not cure a missing copyright license or other statutory duty.
8. Child safety and urgent concerns
Report suspected underage or abusive content by exact URL using gallery Report or Feedback, and clearly identify the safety concern. Do not reproduce or attach illegal imagery. Feedback provides a public notice form without sign-in, but live delivery and urgent handling require operational verification. It is not a guaranteed emergency response service.
Appropriate authorities should be contacted when required by law or when someone is in immediate danger. The operator must establish lawful child-safety reporting and evidence-preservation procedures. This statement does not claim a completed moderation workflow or a fixed response time.
9. Viewer age assurance is a separate issue
The 18+ acknowledgement is intended to communicate the adult audience and obtain an explicit declaration before ordinary content access. It is not government-ID verification or highly effective age assurance. Ofcom explicitly distinguishes self-declaration from methods capable of highly effective age assurance for regulated services.
The operator must assess jurisdiction-dependent access rules before offering pornography or other regulated content. Metadata, a browser key and an uploader checkbox do not satisfy every legal requirement. Search-engine crawlability and no-JavaScript behavior must be considered separately from legally adequate access restriction.
10. Review, complaints and related information
Use DMCA for copyright notice information and the consent/privacy reporting path for participant concerns that do not depend on copyright ownership. Feedback is the current contact route. Verifying reliable unauthenticated legal-notice delivery, accurate operator identity and appropriate production-record operations remains a launch prerequisite.
Read Acceptable Use, Terms and Privacy alongside this statement. This revision makes no blanket exemption or compliance certification and does not promise approval by TrafficStars or Kadam. Legal conclusions must be updated when the actual content, operator role or production arrangements change.
